Special Project 2022-2024
— Glenda McSorley, Mothers Union Sydney President
In partnership with Anglican AID, Mothers Union Sydney is prayerfully and financially supporting The School of the Good Shepherd, Lebanon, reaching and making a difference to the lives of Syrian and Iraqi refugee children.
The school was begun just six years ago with six children in the living room of the house of an Anglican Clergyman and his wife in a village near the border and has grown to 350 children in a purpose-built three-story building. Children are picked up in mini buses from refugee camps and local communities and are enjoying a full education delivered by committed Christian Lebanese Teachers and learning through careful and kind nurture with formal lessons, music and play. Many of the students are unaccompanied, some as young as four and this school is making a significant difference in their lives and their future.
Pray and Give …
Please give praise for our partnership with Anglican AID and with The School of the Good Shepherd. Pray for safety for the children and the staff in a volatile region and for each student’s physical, mental and spiritual growth and well- being. This is a wonderful project.
Mothers Union Sydney is committed to providing prayer and financial support of $20,000 for the employment of seven extra local Christian teachers.
