Christine Jensen grew up in Bondi and was educated in the Eastern Suburbs. She attended Balmain Teachers College and taught at schools in the Illawarra. In 1967 she began a three year course at Moore Theological College and during that time worked as a student at Green Valley and later as a teacher at Abbotsleigh.
She married Peter Jensen in 1968. They have a family of five children (including twins) and fourteen grandchildren. Throughout their married lives Peter and Christine have been fully involved together in ministry. At first they engaged in student work at St Barnabas Broadway and then they moved to Moore College where Peter became Principal in 1986. In 2001 Peter became Archbishop of Sydney.
Christine's leadership roles at the College and now as the wife of the Archbishop have given her many opportunities to encourage women in their knowledge and love of God. She has a great love for people, as well as a passion for teaching the Bible and pointing people to Christ as Saviour She really enjoys books, especially children's literature, her favourite book being "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever". As the mother of three boys, she also discovered an interest in cricket!
